After Brexit , me and partner decided that we no longer want to stay in the UK and we want to start a new life in Barcelona , sadly with not being part of the EU anymore the only way for us to accomplish that is to get the Golden Visa . The search for the new flat started and we’ve soon end up with us being extremely frustrated and stressed . We both didn’t speak Catalan or Spanish , we didn’t understand the Spanish and local laws and it was very hard to make sense of the properties that we saw online.

We had chosen the city, the neighborhood, the flat…
We had clear ideas on so many things…
We were sure we wanted to take this step…
However, we had a lot of doubts to which it was difficult to find an answer….
Obstacles such as language or cultural differences, but above all seemingly insurmountable difficulties when it came down to the right documents to ask from the owner, the NIE to get, the different habits, communication challenges with the various interlocutors, …

I went through Barcelona Flat Hunter for both the purchase and the subsequent rental of my apartment in Barcelona.
The purchase went very well: it was very well organized with 4 apartment visits on the same day. Apartments visits and selection are only the tip of the iceberg though: on the analytical and administrative sides, BFH helped me to define the after-tax profitability of the apartment, accounting for taxes, renovation, and miscellaneous expenses; it helped me apply for a loan, open a bank account, and even showed me how I should pay my taxes!
Considering the efficiency of the purchase, I did not have any second thought about the rental and let BFH deal with it.
